What this is

Hitch & Highway is a towing and van gear store in preparation and is not trading yet. Before we sell anything, we are writing the guide for each product family we plan to stock, and building the tool every caravanner needs first: a check of the vehicle's four towing limits.

Where the figures come from

• Vehicle ratings: makers' Australian spec sheets, as tabulated by loadmate.io, read on the date shown on each page. Limits differ by variant and year; your compliance plate and handbook are the final word.
• Rules: Vehicle Standards Bulletin 1, state road authorities and the ACMA, linked and dated on each page.
• Prices: published price guides from named businesses, with dates. They are market examples, not our prices.

Who writes the guides

Hitch & Highway is the publication’s editorial credit. We use AI-assisted drafting and source review; the guides are not a claim of workshop testing, electrical licensing or approval of your particular towing setup. Use your vehicle and component manuals and qualified installers for the actual installation.

Pictures

Gear pictures are illustrations, captioned that way, and show generic products with no brands. Road and vehicle photographs are from Wikimedia Commons, credited.
